Your template
A good box starts with a test print. Print at 100%, check the 50 mm scale line, then cut and fold. Printing guide ↗
JUST WANT TO PRINT?
Three sizes. Ready when you are.
Small gift, little cube or flat keepsake. Two PDF pages, a separate lid, and a scale check on every sheet.
- 01 / SIZE
Give it your dimensions.
Start with a gift-sized preset or enter your own measurements. Add a little clearance so the lid can slide on.
- 02 / PRINT
Keep it true to size.
Download two PDF pages and print at 100%. Check the 50 mm scale line with a ruler before reaching for the scissors.
- 03 / MAKE
Cut, fold, and fill.
Cut the solid outline, score the dashed lines, then glue the shaded corner tabs inside the adjoining walls.
BEFORE THE FIRST FOLD
Good to know.
Practical answers for your first paper box.
Are the PDF and SVG downloads free?
Yes. You can change dimensions and download this box template without creating an account. The PDF includes both pieces; download the base and lid SVG files separately using their tabs.
What paper should I use?
Start with light cardstock that your printer supports, roughly 180–250 gsm. Paper thickness, score depth and glue affect the fit. Make one test box and adjust the lid clearance before making a batch.
Why does my template not fit on the paper?
The unfolded pattern includes the base and all four walls. A taller box needs more paper. The PDF reserves a 10 mm side margin and space for printing instructions. Reduce the size or use the SVG with a larger sheet. The generator never shrinks a PDF to fit.
Can I use SVG with a cutting machine?
The SVG separates cut lines, fold lines and glue guides. After importing, verify the physical dimensions, delete the glue-guide shapes, and assign fold lines to your machine’s score operation. Machine compatibility has not been physically tested; do a small trial first. See the assembly guide.
Will my finished box have these exact inside dimensions?
The entered dimensions are measured between fold lines. The finished inside space depends on material thickness and folding. This tool does not compensate for paper thickness. Leave room around your object and test the lid fit with your chosen cardstock.
How do I adjust a lid that is too tight or loose?
First check the printed 50 mm line. If the scale is right, change the clearance by a small amount and try another lid with the same base. Clearance is added on each side: 0.75 mm makes the lid panel 1.5 mm larger overall. Read the lid fit guide.
